It was a busy weekend in Rhode Island at Newport Folk Festival! In addition to our main set at the festival, which is now available to stream in its entirety via NPR here, Funk and Annalisa sat in with Beck, the band backed up Michael Hurley, and joined Colin Meloy for two songs during his set. And you’ll have to ask him why, but during one of Chris’s ‘Folk with Funk’ workshops, he challenged (and tied) Jim James in a 25-minute staring / meditation contest (the photo below really encapsulates the experience).
